Hope
We take shoes for granted every day! Many of us are unaware that millions of people across the world live barefoot lives. Over 1.5 billion kids suffer from soil transmitted diseases worldwide as a result of not having shoes to wear.
It is estimated that in the US alone that over one billion pairs of shoes can be found in our closets and basements – unworn and forgotten. Most are just outdated or outgrown, but are still in good condition and considered a treasure in a developing country.
In many developing countries, walking is the only mode of transportation. Kids are therefore exposed to unsanitary conditions that lead to diseases. These diseases may lead to sickness, even death. They can also keep kids out of school leaving them without an education and continuing the cycle of poverty.
With your help, we can provide a life-changing solution: a good pair of sandals.
